All prices are discounted to 15% moisture so you don’t pay for that “extra water”! So to calculate prices, we take the RFQ value and multiply by $1.50. Then, if moisture is above 15%, we multiply that by the conversion factor for the moisture discount. We figure our conversion factor by taking the moisture of that sample and subtract from 100%. We then divide by 85 (or 100%-15%). This gives you a fair value for the hay you want without having to worry about the moisture level!
